SocialThumbPro prompting: from a vague idea to a reviewable brief

A field-by-field example for the Generate page, with reference-image guidance and a checklist for AI output errors.

01Give each field a separate job

The Generate page takes a video title, description, thumbnail text, style, platform preset, and optional reference images. Use the title to identify the topic and the description to explain what the viewer will actually learn. Use the text field for exact visible wording.

A vague request such as “make an amazing laptop thumbnail” leaves the subject, claim, and layout open to interpretation. A better brief identifies the topic, a focal object, its position, the lettering, and what must not change.

02Copyable example brief

The following is an instructional brief for a fictional tutorial. It has not been presented as a customer generation or a tested performance result. You can adapt it to your own video before spending generation credits.

Instructional example

Video title: Three ways to keep a laptop cooler
Thumbnail text: COOLER LAPTOP
Description: Show a laptop on a raised cooling stand on the right. Leave clear space on the left for the headline. Use a simple dark blue desk scene. Highlight the stand with one amber pointer. Do not show fire, ice, or an invented temperature measurement.
Platform: YouTube / widescreen
Reference: A product photo you have permission to use, if the laptop must match a specific model.

03Use references responsibly

Upload a clear reference when the face or product should be recognisable. Tell the generator which feature needs to stay faithful. A request to preserve identity is a direction to the model, not a guarantee: inspect facial features, product ports, labels, and proportions in the output.

Only use images you have the right to upload. Do not include personal documents, private payment information, or another person’s face just to test a design. Check the Privacy Policy for how the service processes uploaded content.

04Review before generating another variant

Generation requires sign-in and sufficient credits. Confirm the cost shown in the studio and current pricing before submitting. Review one result against the brief: exact headline, subject accuracy, layout, unwanted extra text, and actual download dimensions.

If the layout is wrong, change the layout instruction. If spelling is wrong but the image is useful, consider correcting the text in an editor. Repeated requests cost credits and do not guarantee the same composition. Save useful downloads locally because only the ten most recent generations stay in the Library.

Key Takeaway

A good brief makes the output easier to review. It does not eliminate the need to check accuracy, spelling, dimensions, and permissions.
